The Legacy Builders Initiative is a cohort-based fatherhood program designed by SBWCDEC to empower urban fathers through a culturally grounded, trauma-informed framework. Rooted in our organization’s long-standing commitment to youth, digital media arts, and community healing, this initiative will support over 100 fathers annually across Metro Detroit — including reentry fathers, fathers who are emotionally disconnected from their children, and those facing economic instability.
Legacy Builders is a 12-week fatherhood initiative designed by Somebody Who Cares Destiny Empowerment Center to help Detroit-area fathers heal from trauma, strengthen their families, and build sustainable futures. Through emotional wellness workshops, creative media training, and a culture of accountability, we’re empowering men to become the fathers their children need — and the leaders their communities deserve.
